Easy Recipe Basics Series: Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes

Looking for a quick and nourishing side dish that fits in with breakfast, lunch, or dinner? These easy air fryer sweet potatoes are a regular food prep side in my kitchen — ready in about 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced into ½-inch cubes

  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon cumin


Instructions

  1. Peel and dice sweet potato: Dice into ½-inch cubes

  2. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.

  3. Prep the sweet potato: In the air fryer basket, toss the diced sweet potatoes with avocado oil, salt, pepper, and cumin until evenly coated.

  4. Air fry: Add the sweet potatoes to the air fryer basket in a single layer.

  5. Cook for 15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  6. Serve and enjoy! They should be crisp on the edges and tender inside.


Tips

  • For even crispier results, avoid overcrowding the basket — cook in batches if needed.

  • These make a great base for a cottage cheese, taco meat + avocado bowl (will include a recipe for this on the blog soon!)
